Tackling Red-tape, Jobsworths and bureaucracy

AZVaccine

After being discharged from hospital in March 2021 I had a need for answers from those organisations that had left me in this position of being vaccine injured and over the last 2 years since I've battled AstraZeneca, Drs, Government departments inc the MHRA and Insurance companies with varied success, but with added stress.

Probably the first group that I contacted was the Yellow card site to which those suffering adverse side-effects to all medications can report them to and which is run by the government, but of which many people just aren't aware exists. Fairly straightforward to do it was actually a back-up to promises made by my GP and hospital Drs to complete one for me and whether they'd in fact done so through clear narrative changes during 2021. Most important is for people to update the site on their health since as they do tend to forget about you and i've since found out, the MHRA have been found to delete Yellow card reports because we are an inconvenience and skew their data as confirmed within their previous board meeting.

This led me onto reporting directly to AstraZeneca because I felt that if they knew people were being injured from their vaccine then maybe the information could be used to save others from being injured also. Surprisingly, the company referred me to their Neurological unit in Liverpool which I thought was going to be amazing as they seemed to recognising those injured by the vaccine and were committed to helping treat us. Sadly, after the initial back and forth emails I lost patience with the copy and paste responses and repeated requests for injury details that I supplied them with, yet they kept misplacing. In 2022 i did try messaging them again to remind them that i was still around and wanting answers but they never replied to me.

Not knowing my future prospects I applied for the Vaccine damage payment compensation scheme in March 2021 yet in a few months time and 2 years later it still won't have been settled which is typical of so many others experiences. As of December 2021, around 3,000 people have now applied for compensation yet only a handful have been paid out and that is awful bearing in mind most of those injured and left bereaved are now struggling financially for believing the government stating that the vaccines were safe and effective. Strangely there have been some changes evident in the business services authority who are handling claims in that communication seems to have been stepped up a little and so at least i seem to hearing the same line of "we are still processing your claim" but more often now.

In Jan 2021 I officially and reluctantly finished working for my company and requested a pension pot settlement that I was told I could access through ill health which was a routine request I was told and should be completed within months, now knowing otherwise maybe I should've had a written guarantee.

Over the year I had poor contact with a large number of people through paperwork "apparently" going missing which delayed me getting to the stage of completing the Drs health declaration I needed to access funds and then losing quotation forms stating the sum I'd receive.

Finally after completing an acceptance form I was told it would be with me in 2 weeks time but after several weeks and no word from the company I was told I was no longer eligible for the monies due to wording on the original Drs declaration although on many occasions I was told there was nothing wrong.

It's even been admitted now that should the process have run as it was meant to I would never have had a quotation form, yet I received 2 and 6 months elapsed until they told me I was no longer eligible.

I have been through official company complaints procedures and been offered sums of money to shut me up, from £50 to £200 to £500 but until many weeks later I'd never had anything from them so finally they gave me £500 although of note, they claim the monies were only ever an apology of sorts and a goodwill gesture, and so I've now escalated my issues to the Financial Ombudsman. Rather pre-emptively i had started the process with them months before by i can only guess was a disgruntled employee who agreed that i'd been treated so poorly that i should get in touch with them straight away and bypass the official complaints procedure.

After fighting to be seen and heard by my Dr through 2021 I was then signed off by a neurologist by the end of the year and spent 2022 trying to be heard again by another Dr through a referral scheme and so sought refuge through the Health Ombudsman that they had also highlighted me to.

A referral would not only give me a better diagnosis hopefully as bear in mind that like so many others injured by their vaccines, we've never had a properly investigated one and which would also give me another health declaration as this then became a major fork in the road for some reason as my Dr agrees I'm unable to work yet won't commit to now saying I won't be fit to do so for the next couple of years which is the minimum date required to access funds although it'll soon be 2 years without sufficient progress in my condition.

I could list all the government departments who I've emailed about my injury over the last 2 years and requesting help in being heard and listened to but they generally only give out copy and paste replies without really acknowledging what you're saying which paints a pretty shambolic portrayal of how they all operate.

From "champagne lunches" to "pats on the back all round for doing a job well done" I don't think they really deserve anything further than being sat down face to face with so many of us who've suffered through their vaccine experiences to drive the horrors home to them to fully realise the severity of the situation. A pipe dream maybe.

One of the hardest challenges that all vaccine injured seem to face is dealing with claiming a Personal Independence Payment which supposedly comes into play once life changes dramatically for you and provides different tiers of financial support.

Skipping through hurdles of assessments and phone conversations stating how you struggle through normal life now yet because we don't give the "right" answers we aren't then deemed incapacitated enough and are so often awarded nil points.

At the end of a 2nd PIP claim battle over 2 years I enlisted a lawyers help-group and in just a short period of time they uncovered the "obvious" fact that as I'm unable to work and signed off by my Dr, and so eligible to receive benefits I automatically qualify for 15 points. 2 years of denying my health issues existed although paying me out for them I'm now hopefully getting somewhere and so the Court of Appeal judgement over my PIP claim is nearing the end, maybe.
